In General

Energy Management Systems (EnMS) per ISO 50001 include elements of policy and objectives, with the means to meet the objectives you set. In some locales it is or may be required.

The good news is, a lot of work has been done to make your path to an excellent EnMS easier. Aside from the ISO 50001 standard itself with related standards, the U.S. Department of Energy's Strategic Energy Management Checklist is a good tool to see how far you've come, and what's left.

Most organizations will need a lot of help to get through this; some are already there or have what they need to get to a complete system. We can help you through some of the less-than-obvious items, training your people along the way. It's all part of building something you can call your own.

Overall the process is well-aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 22001; if you're already doing this, then creating an EnMS is an application of a familiar process.
